The First Trimester of Pregnancy Unfolded, Week-by-Week
This is how your baby develops in your womb, week by week in the first trimester or in the first stage of pregnancy.
The first week- The embryo has still not been conceived.
Week 2- Blood supply is being prepared in the uterus for the embryo
Week 3- This is the time, fusion of the egg and the sperm takes place, and a tiny life begins to form in the mother’s womb
Week4- The embryo is about the size of an apple pip. The mother may show some signs and symptoms of pregnancy, such as tingling sensation in the breasts and fatigue
Week 5- Right now, the baby is just a bunch of cells and a heart is forming out of these. You may start feeling the effects of pregnancy, like nausea.
Week 6- This is the time, when the bunch of cells that your baby was, start developing eyes and ears, also the few celled heart has begun to beat. You may feel terribly nauseas during this period. Most miscarriages take place at this time. If you see any spotting or bleeding and get cramps in the stomach, you must tell the doctor at once.
Week 7- During pregnancy at seven weeks, the eyes, ears, nose, and tiny hands and toes begin to develop and so does the brain.
Week 8- Your Baby has a clear heartbeat and your doctor may advise an ultrasound to ensure your baby is all right.
Week 9- Your baby’s bones and cartilage start to take form and so do tiny webbed hands and feet.
Week 10-Your baby is just about fully formed, with a tiny little face, a beating heart, limbs, and a brain.
Week 11- The baby is developing very fast
Week 12- This is the time when the sexual organs develop.
Week 13- During this week of pregnancy, the baby’s digestive system develops. Relax because your feelings of nausea will start subsiding.
If you read good books and magazines on pregnancy, this will help you stay well informed about the first trimester week by week and also about the later stages of pregnancy. Wish you lots of baby dust.
